toyota supra

the supra: capturing an icon.

problem

The Supra is a car with a reputation. Gearheads have posters of this thing on their walls. Photographing it meant finding angles that lived up to the hype... shots that captured what makes it special to the fans, without feeling like just another car shoot.

solution

I approached it like I was taking portraits, not product shots. Working the light to sculpt the shape. Closing in on the details Supra obsessives geek out over. And pushing the edit into moody, contrasty territory to match the car's aggressive rep.

The Supra is one of those machines that doesn't need much introduction to its fans.

I looked for ways to echo the car's personality in the photos themselves. The portraits play with light and shadow in a way that brings out the lines. The photos had to nod to that without feeling like a kid's bedroom poster.
